A native of Quimper who trained at the École supérieure d’audiovisuel de Toulouse and Ateliers Varan, Mathurin Peschet is a documentary writer-director. He began his career in Paris as a camera rental agent and later as a chief editor, notably at the CNDP in Montrouge.
After a decade in the capital, he returned to Brittany to join the TV Breizh project, first for a music show and then for the program Bretons Around the World. Gradually, he moved behind the camera and sometimes in front of it. From an idea that TV Breizh had rejected, he directed his first personal film in 2005 about a Breton doctor living in Thailand and an activist in the fight against AIDS, Mo Philip, a doctor in Pattaya.
Now based in Douarnenez, he directs documentaries selected for numerous festivals on environmental, agricultural, and marine issues, as well as numerous segments for the France 3 Ouest program Littoral. In 2023, he directed “Dans la peau d’un végan”, a film in which he personally experiments with veganism for 100 days.
