Vincent Pouplard was born in 1980

He studied sociology and photography before turning to experimental film and performances that blend music and images.

In 2010, he directed “The Silence of the Carp”, his first documentary. Since then, his films have been regularly screened at festivals around the world, as well as in alternative cinema venues in France and Europe.

His work as a filmmaker also extends to leading artistic workshops and conducting film education programs. The former serve as spaces for the creation of collective films that often address the issues faced by the participants (schoolchildren, people in detention, neighborhood residents, students…). The latter are based on themes close to his heart (youth, emancipation, stereotypes of marginality, the urban condition, etc.), approaching them through the lens of cinema and, more broadly, the creation of images and documents. This practice leads him to constantly move back and forth between periods of creation and moments of sharing. And the genesis of his films often maintains close ties to a workshop experience.
