I started out in cinéma as a production manager, notably on the feature films “Avant que j’oublie” by Jacques Nolot, “Le clan” by Gael Morel, “Rester vertical” by Alain Guiraudie, “Plaire, aimer et courir vite” by Christophe Honoré, and “Petite nature” by Samuel Theis.
In 2010, while working on a short film as a production manager, I met a group of destitute men living alone in a boarding house in Soissons, in northern France, while scouting the main location. From this encounter came my first documentary film, “La vie, ici,” which observes their daily lives.
This first experience confirmed my passion and desire to direct. The emotional and social challenges faced in declining regions of France are the themes explored in my films. From workers in the commercial zone in “Les décentrés” to the gendarmes, the last public representatives of a deprived countryside in “Les gendarmes et le territoire,” people are at the heart of my cinema.
