Will there be water this summer?

2025 • 52'

Water is now a major issue and could become scarce as a result of climate change. Around the Poitevin Marshes, the largest wetland on the Atlantic coast, men and women are taking action to defend the equitable sharing of this common resource. Hydrologists, farmers, elected officials, and ordinary citizens go out into the field to observe, measure, and analyze. The goal: to demonstrate the impact of substitute reservoirs—also known as mega-basins—on biodiversity and the health of rivers.

Alongside the organization of large activist rallies, these determined grassroots activists are providing evidence-based proof that these reservoirs are not the solution, while also calling for essential support from public authorities to shift away from the conventional, productivity-driven model in a desirable and sustainable manner.
