Guérande, a little bit of the world’s beauty

2021 • 52' & 59'

In the early 1970s, old salt workers and a few young utopian activists from the 1968 movement joined forces to oppose a ring road project that would have spelled the end of the salt marshes. After ten years of struggle and victory at last, they embarked on another battle: creating a cooperative so they could make a living from harvesting salt.

Fifty years later, the pioneers have passed the torch to a younger generation also searching for meaning. They tell us about the decades of struggle and commitment to save this site, which is now a listed heritage site.
