Born in Coimbra, Portugal, in 1978, he graduated with a degree in architecture in 2004 and discovered documentary filmmaking with the Ateliers Varan during a filmmaking internship in Lisbon in 2006. He then undertook a Master’s degree in Creative Documentary at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona in 2012. He directs documentary films and co-founded the production company Terratreme in 2008. Since 2011, he has been involved in Docnomads, the European Master’s in Documentary, in Lisbon, and has been a member of the Ateliers Varan since 2014.
