After earning a master’s degree in film and a postgraduate diploma in Cultural Project Management from the Sorbonne Nouvelle, Perrine Michel trained in filmmaking at the Ateliers Varan and the Documentary Workshop at La Fémis.
She directs short and feature-length documentaries, screened in theaters and at international festivals, including “Lame de fond” (2013), “Les Équilibristes” (2020), and “Il n’y a pas de maison sans fenêtres” (2024). She is always seeking to invent new forms best suited to conveying emotions on risky and complex themes.
She also works as a teacher, coordinator, and programmer at various institutions, including La Fémis, CICLIC, the University of Bordeaux 3, the Cinémathèque Française, Cinémas 93, and the French Cultural Center in Dakar.
