Isabelle Mandin writes, films, and edits documentary footage. Her films focus primarily on the role of women in their communities.
In 2019, her short film Ya Hesra was selected for the Douarnenez Film Festival. In 2021, Habitantes, produced by Hector Nestor Films and co-directed by her and Tesslye Lopez, was released in theaters, followed by Croquantes. Both of these medium-length films received a nationwide theatrical release. Croquantes was selected for the Estivales section of the Premiers Plans Festival in Angers and the Alimenterre Festival in Belgium before airing on France 3 Pays de la Loire.
Saisonnières, her latest documentary, is supported by Emmanuelle Jacq of Mille et Une Films and co-produced by France Télévisions. This project is a winner of the Parcours d’Auteurs program at the Pôle Cinéma des Pays de la Loire and receives support from the regions of Brittany and Pays de la Loire, as well as Procirep Angoa.
She regularly collaborates with the performing arts and contemporary theater. She created the video for the show Au milieu de l’hiver, j’ai découvert en moi un invincible été by writer and stage director Anaïs Allais. This show was performed at the Théâtre National de la Colline and the ZEF in Marseille, among other venues.
For director Elise Vigier and the CDN in Caen, she co-directed with Anaïs Allais a short-form piece titled A regarder les poissons. This production accompanies the run of Elise Vigier’s show Anaïs Nin au miroir.
She is currently working and experimenting with writer and director Hervé Guilloteau on short documentary pieces based on his texts.
