Seasonal workers

More than a century ago, Lourdes experienced its first influx of pilgrims and the rise of religious tourism. After decades of intense visitor traffic, the crowds are now becoming rarer. Lourdes seems to be on the verge of a new transformation.
With my camera, I went to meet the women who bring the town to life today. They are receptionists, sales assistants, photographers and hoteliers, and they offer a contemporary perspective on the town of miracles. ‘Seasonal Workers’ is a glimpse into the town as it is rarely seen.
